Sandra Bullock surprised attendees at an advance screening of Practical Magic 2 on Sept. 5 at Alamo Drafthouse Mueller. She had been out of sight before engaging with the host on a microphone, saying "My name is... Sandy" and then walking into the theater to cheers.
Madeline Hollern, editor-in-chief of Austin Monthly, served as the evening's emcee and spoke with Bullock onstage. After their conversation Bullock took questions from the audience about returning to the role of Sally Owens, about favorite elements of the film's iconic house, and about what she enjoys most in Austin.
Before leaving the venue she posed for a selfie with the crowd and raised a midnight margarita in a toast. Warner Bros. Pictures and Fons PR hosted the event. Practical Magic 2 is scheduled for public release on Thursday, Sept. 10.
