Texas men's basketball defeats Missouri 85-68 for fourth straight SEC win
February 15, 2026
- What: Texas beat Missouri 85-68 on the road at Mizzou Arena, marking the Longhorns' fourth straight Southeastern Conference victory.
- Who: Junior forward Dailyn Swain led Texas with 25 points (18 in the second half), sophomore center Matas Vokietaitis had a 19-point, 10-rebound double-double, and graduate guard Jordan Pope added 15 points.
- Why it matters: The win extends Texas' SEC momentum ahead of a home game against LSU, while Missouri relied heavily on free throws late and could not overcome the Longhorns' second-half surge.
Texas took control in the final 20 minutes and secured an 85-68 victory over Missouri at Mizzou Arena on Saturday night. The Longhorns shot 16 of 26 in the second half, erasing a tight first-half margin and pulling away down the stretch.
Junior forward Dailyn Swain led the attack with 25 points, including 18 after intermission. The Xavier transfer added six rebounds and two assists, rebounding from a limited offensive night in last weekend's win at Ole Miss.
Sophomore center Matas Vokietaitis provided another dependable performance, finishing with 19 points and 10 rebounds while shooting 6 of 10 from the field and 7 of 8 from the foul line. He dealt with foul trouble, collecting four personals, but still logged significant minutes with graduate forward Lassina Traore held out because of an injury.
Graduate guard Jordan Pope chipped in 15 points and two rebounds, though he also battled fouls during the game. Texas' three leading scorers, Swain, Vokietaitis and Pope, combined for 59 of the team's 85 points.
Missouri struggled to generate consistent offense from the floor, going 8 of 21 in one stretch, and much of the Tigers' second-half scoring came at the free throw line. Missouri finished 20 of 27 from the charity stripe, but that was not enough to close the gap after Texas' hot shooting in the final period.
Depth was an issue for the Longhorns, who got just 18 bench points, all supplied by sophomore forward Nic Codie and junior guard Simeon Wilcher. Wilcher came off the bench and drew a technical foul, while graduate guard Tramon Mark had a quiet night with eight points and four rebounds.
Texas' struggles at power forward continued, as junior Camden Heide started at the four and did not score. With the win, the Longhorns stay on an SEC roll and will return to the Moody Center in Austin to host LSU on Tuesday at 8 p.m. CT.
